The lovely village of Lindos is one of the most attractive and beautiful villages of Rhodes and an idyllic holiday destination. It is full of whitewashed houses with pebble-paved courtyards, narrow alleys and painted ceilings.

Above Lindos rises the Acropolis of Lindos, a feast of delightful ancient architecture and spectacular views. It can be reached by foor or donkey. Lindos stands on the eastern side of the island, at a distance of 55 km from Rhodes town. According to tradition, it was founded by Lindos, brother of Kamiros and Ialysos.

The most important monuments are to be found on the Acropolis, where we can see the trireme carved in the rock, the colonnade of the temple of Lindian Athena, the Propylum and the temple itself. The temple once contained picture by the most famous painters of the antiquity: Zeuxes, Apelles and Parrasius. The VII Ode of Pindar, in praise of the athletic triumphs of the Olympic victor Diagoras, was carved on the temple marbles.

The beaches in S. Paul’s Bay are two. There is the large beach in the southern end with golden sand. There is also, the smaller beach at the northern end of the bay with a mix of sand and gravel. There are a lot of Facilities at both beaches including sun loungers, sun shades, toilets and a cafe.
